Picked up two more guitars, both Asturcon’s – short run instruments that kick arse 😛 I’ll add pics of them as soon as I get a new camera seein as mine went tits up grrrrrrrrr and I hate using my stoopid fone.
The first is an Asturcon Carlos Garcia signature “Maestro de Metal” with Humbucker Single Humbucker pup setup, a single run of 150 in 2008, mine is number 19 – what an ear melter NYAH!! LOL the 2nd is an Asturcon “Grey Wolf” Single and Split pup bass, same vintage. The serial numbering is a tad confusing though – you have to add 50 to the last two digits and mine is 58 so that makes it a 2008 so if you had a number like 050958 (just made that number up) the actual serial number is 0509 with 58 being the 2008 year, 05 is the model so that leaves 09 which is the manufacture month so that’s September.
05 – Maestro de Metal
09 – September
58 – 2008
19 – run number (sig’s only)
Confusing bastards 🙂 but the give-aways for genuines are the numbers are on the back of the headstock next to the Carlos Garcia signature and stamped in to the neck stock on a cock-eyed angle – sig versions like mine also have in the neck stock a CG after the serial number indicating a sig series. I’m having less luck finding info the Grey Wolf but I’ll keep searching.
We had initially a STB from SelectTV so we could watch stuff from Chile and Spain, they (Select) start going under so they sold it on to UBIWorld who, after a little over a year shut up shop (voluntary administration) without a single shred of contact to its clients apart from a brief scrolling banner on a Greek channel, something we didn’t have.
Originally TARBS which went bankrupt, it was relaunched as UBIWorld by the TARBS owner’s wife (convenient) and that too has now gone by the wayside. If you are a foreign national but a proud Australian in Australia then you may as well forget seeing programs in your own language as the likes of Foxtel, Austar etc couldn’t give a flying fuck about you, you minority you. The likes of the UBIWorld type companies have no hope in surviving in a country that panders to the multi-nationals e.g. Foxtel as it’s not worth their while to invest in the infrastructure (oops that already exists – silly me).
Oh well back to watching what one must laughingly call FTA TV pfft who gives a flying fuck about ‘the block’ or ‘the voice’ – not fuckin’ me that’s for sure, thankfully I have better things to do!!
Maybe I’ll stop painting the bike one day NOT!!
This version is Protec base black under SFX Blue Pearl in Protec Top Coat Clear. Next comes the flamenco dancer on the top of the tank and the word ‘Gitana’ on the sides – I’ve just got to decide what she’ll look like, which may well take me forever :P. You can also see the 4″ forward control extensions that make the ride sooooo much more comfy.
Either way, the airbrushing will be done with my trusty Iwata HP-C Plus with Iwata Medea Com-Art and Createx paints.
I’m not overly fussed if you like flamenco or not, I do and that’s all that matters to me!! This YouTube vid is Enrique Morente’s ‘Agnus Dei’ the bailador you hear around the 3:15 mark is Juan Ramirez, search for him on YouTube and be prepared for a serious treat.
Just started respraying the bike, it’s now a deep blue metallic with the beginnings of a Gitana/Flamenco dancer on the tank, with the Cross of Asturias (Cruz de la Victoria) on the rear guard. I knew it wouldn’t take long before I decided to change the old paint job 😛
Didn’t like it – starting again 2-1-11
Just gotta add the faces and a few tiny touchups and this is done.
