Well, Here We Go Again

Bloody summer, I HATE IT!
Summer in the Northern Hemisphere is like winter here in Oz – well that’s a slight exaggeration, it may be a tad warmer but compared to here it’s nothing. It’s now back to air conditioners, cold showers and that’s at night GRRRRR.

Plus it slows stuff down i.e. me doin work on the Bonneville, it gets so bleeding ‘ot in the shed ya gotta wander outside to get a bitta fresh air and wipe the sweat off. Just on the Bonneville, it’s got an annoying rattle in the top end that I just gotta find and fix. Pulled the front cam out to double check the anti-backlash gear, reset that now I’m changing all the stupid torx screws for allen head bolts in the cam blocks – damn stupid idea are them torx screws.

The only other things I need to do are fit the Lucas tail light, the short Lucas blinkers and the Ped Slicer ;)

I’m At It Again :P

Sold the Sporty – I’m not a Harley person to be honest and with that said it went :P I’ve now got myself a 2001 Triumph Bonneville in Forest Green and Silver, and am totally stoked!!

Granted it’s got 66,000 on the clock (Klm’s not Miles) but to look at it it looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. Not only are the Bonnies a great looking bike they also handle so this one is a def keeper for sure.2001 Triumph Bonneville

New Toy LOL

After finally letting the XVS1100 go (what a sad day that was) I spent some time looking for something else and almost bought a 1996 Triumph Thunderbird for $4,000 – ALMOST :) Mark (son-in-law) pointed me at a candy apple red 1988 XLH1200 for $5,000 but he was confident that he could get it for less and he did – he paid a pittance for it you could almost say he stole it LOL well the dude at MCAS said for the $3,700 he paid for it was like stealing it hehe.

It’s got a wide glide kit with 4″ ups that I’m pulling off and returning to stock, a fatbob tank, an S&S Shorty and was rebuilt a while back, the owner rode it till it ran out of rego then just parked it – bargain for me :P

As you can plainly see, from foto three onwards is how it finally looks apart from the 2″ Ultima Drag Pipes :P

Boredom again :P

Maybe I’ll stop painting the bike one day NOT!!
This version is Protec base black under SFX Blue Pearl in Protec Top Coat Clear. Next comes the flamenco dancer on the top of the tank and the word ‘Gitana’ on the sides – I’ve just got to decide what she’ll look like, which may well take me forever :P . You can also see the 4″ forward control extensions that make the ride sooooo much more comfy.

Either way, the airbrushing will be done with my trusty Iwata HP-C Plus with Iwata Medea Com-Art and Createx paints.

NSW, Australia – The Fuck Up State

I used to buy repairable writeoff’s to fix up, in fact I’ve still got one that I bought in 2009 but from the beginning of this year the NSW government in attempt to halt naughty people from doing body swaps or “re-birthing” as they like to call it, brought in a law making the re-registration of a repairable writeoff nigh on f***in impossible.

Now we all know that it hasn’t worked, insurance premiums have gone through the ceiling and the crims are still doing body swaps etc so what was the point of the whole exercise? f***ing none that I can see, just more bureaucratic bull shit to make life difficult and more expensive for those that have to live in this c*** of a state they call New South Wales.

Yeh yeh I can hear you saying “well move ya whinger” – why the f*** should I? I sure as f*** didn’t screw the state over, checkit, NSW has the worst road system, the worst rail system, is the most expensive for electricity (4 times more than the UK), is the most expensive for gas, is the most expensive for petrol, is the most expensive for food – yada yada yada, need I go on!!

Actually to prove my point I just hopped on the local automotive auction site, and went for a wander, then chose the car you see, just at random. To buy it then put it back on the road (inc all the bullshit fee’s you have to pay now) would probably cost you as much as you’d pay for one from a car yard and yes the damage you see IS the damage. The idea of buying from auction is to obtain a bargain but nooooo in comes the NSW government AGAIN to f*** it all up for Mr and Mrs Joe Average. All they had to do was to amend the existing laws to say that the purchaser could not re-sell the car, bike, whatever for a minimum of 18 mths – easy fix far as I’m concerned.
Oh and I’ve blurred various details for legal reasons, I’m not in the mood to listen to wankers whinge!!

New Paint

Or part thereof ;)

Just started respraying the bike, it’s now a deep blue metallic with the beginnings of a Gitana/Flamenco dancer on the tank, with the Cross of Asturias (Cruz de la Victoria) on the rear guard. I knew it wouldn’t take long before I decided to change the old paint job :P

Part 1 Respray - So Close To Finished

Didn’t like it – starting again 2-1-11

Just gotta add the faces and a few tiny touchups and this is done.

FIN – FINISHED – YAH-BLOODY-HOO
Part 1 FIN YIPPEE - I can finally (well tomorra) get the XVS1100 back together again!!
