Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting!!

They may as well have been, well atleast the dutch football team – Dutch Kung Fu Champion image copyright ESPNtalk about rough house tactics. As far as games go, it wasn’t too bad but then again it wasn’t too good either.
It was all too much bash, barge and dive for me. Spain’s fluid game was regularly interrupted by off handed tactics from the dutch and their game was put off by too much of the ‘hit the ground and squirm’ that goes on in todays game of football – thankfully Ronaldo and Portugal weren’t playing, the bloody game would still be going now!!!

All in all though, the better team won, SPAIN!! and it’s proved once and for all that Euro 2008 wasn’t a one off.

Now let’s hope that Wales can make it in to Brazil 2014, though with TosserShack at the helm Wales has got no hope. Today though is Spanish football’s day – viva la Furia Rojas.

Genealogy is now a scary word

After spending an age and a wallet full of money, I’ve had a fair bit of success researching the family tree on the internet but in saying that, I’ve also wasted a lot of time and money with sites that offer but don’t deliver.

Now apparently there are relatives that came from Ireland. from what I can gather, a lot of records were destroyed but a lot weren’t – I find it odd that the records I need to look at seemingly don’t exist. Yet the records DO show up if you search for another name which makes me wonder whether or not  the site in question is suspect.

UK census records are another story. People show up that match the search criteria but the info is sketchy e.g. my great grand dad was born in Ystradgynlais – his father, who knows as he doesn’t show up in BMD’s or censuses on first looking, you really have to dig to find!!

As for ratings of the sites I’ve used so far, I’ll give them something out of five.
Origins Network - 1.5 out of 5
Reason For Rating: Site ceases to function on a regular basis which means you seem to lose a lot of info if you haven’t previously saved plus it’s too expensive for what you can find.

Genes Re-United – 3.5 out of 5
Reason For Rating: Plenty of stuff here but lacks Irish records, and the fees are little high. You pay up front for membership then you have to buy credits to view census records etc.

Ancestry dot co dot uk – same as the previous except Irish records are apparently there, although I did do a free trial and saw a fair bit, I can’t at this stage see the value in paying another 22 bucks for a months access just in case (yes I’ve spent 5 times that in the last 2 weeks of searching).

FreeBMD – 5 out 5
Reason For Rating: Anything I can get for free I like :)

Onwards and upwards, more searching/researching and finger crossing.

How True

Two English businessmen in London were sitting down for a break in their soon-to-be new store. As yet, the store wasn’t ready, with only a few shelves set up.
One said to the other, “I bet any minute now some twit is going to walk by, put his face to the window and ask what we’re selling.”
No sooner were the words out of his mouth when, sure enough, a curious WELSHMAN walked to the window, had a peek, and in a broad VALLEYS accent asked, “What are you selling in here butt?”
One of the men replied sarcastically, “We’re selling arse-holes.”
Without skipping a beat, the TAFFY said, “You are doing well, Only two left!”
Moral: Englishmen – God bless them – should not mess with the WELSH.

Bloody Weather – Bloody Willy W

Grrrrrrrrr I hate the summer, plain n simple. It’s not that it’s hot, it’s just so bloody humid that if you fold your arms they stick together and hiding under an A/C all day is not the best of moves seeing as soon as the leccy bill comes in you end up needing a handful of medication for the shock.

Now as for Willy W, that’s William Wales or Prince William, or look at me, my family is descended from a bunch of tools who knicked Wales from the Welsh.

I s’pose as far as people go Willy might be ok, it’s the fact they use Wales as his surname, what’s with that shit, why don’t they use William Windsor or William Buckingham Palace or Highgrove or somewhere else the bastards own.
YOU DON’T OWN WALES so PISS OFF!!!!!!

Mr. Happy or UP YOU!!
